This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones Darkelix ("We", "Us", "Our") actually sets, and where. We build visitor identification software, so We hold Ourselves to a simple standard: every cookie We set is first-party, has a job, and is listed here.

What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small piece of data a website stores in Your browser so it can recognize You between page loads or visits. Cookies set by the site You are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by other companies through that site are third-party cookies, and they are the mechanism behind most cross-site ad tracking.

Cookies on Darkelix's Own Sites

We also run Darkelix on Darkelix. Our own sites carry the same one-line pixel We sell, which sets the same first-party visitor identifier described below. We would not ask You to install something We do not run Ourselves.

• Session cookie. Set when You sign in. It keeps You signed in for up to 12 hours, or 14 days if You check "Remember me". It contains a random identifier only, no personal information.
• Visitor identifier. Our own pixel's first-party identifier, so We can recognize repeat visits to Our own site the same way Our customers do on theirs. It honors GPC like every Darkelix install.

That is the complete list. We set no advertising cookies and no third-party cookies of any kind on Our own sites.

The Darkelix Pixel on Customer Sites

When one of Our customers installs the Darkelix pixel on their own website, the pixel sets a first-party identifier (a cookie and/or local storage entry, depending on the install) in the browsers of that site's visitors, so repeat visits can be recognized. Important things to know about it:

• It is first-party to the customer's site. It does not follow visitors across unrelated websites, and it is never used to build cross-site advertising profiles.
• The customer controls it. They are responsible for disclosing it to their visitors, and Our Privacy Policy describes the data it processes on their behalf.
• It honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal: when GPC is enabled, no visitor data is collected for that visitor.

Managing Cookies

Every major browser lets You view, block, and delete cookies in its settings. Blocking Our session cookie will prevent You from staying signed in to the Service, and everything else on Our sites will keep working. Visitors to customer sites can also enable GPC in a supporting browser to opt out of pixel collection entirely.

Changes to This Policy

If We add or change a cookie, We will update this page and the date at the top. We will not quietly add tracking that this policy does not describe.
